Nomad Drive Console Commands

Checked October 28, 2026 · Early Access, Steam build 26243889

Nomad Drive console commands are built into the game: press Ctrl + Q to open the developer console, no setup needed. This guide covers how to spawn items, which commands switch off achievements and the leaderboard, and the commands players are most likely to want.

How do you use console commands in Nomad Drive?

Press Ctrl + Q in a game to open the developer console. Press it again to close it. You do not need a launch option, a mod or a special build.

  • Spawn an item: type world.listLoot to see the item keys, then world.spawnLoot followed by a key. The item appears where you are looking.
  • Achievements: most commands switch achievements off for the rest of that game, for everyone in it. Commands that only look things up, such as world.listLoot, do not.
  • Leaderboard: a world where a console command was used no longer counts for the leaderboard.
  • How many: the game has 307 console commands, most of them for testing.

How to open the console

Press Ctrl + Q while you are in a game. The console opens over the screen and takes your typing; press Ctrl + Q again to close it.

The console is part of the normal Early Access game. It is switched on in every build, so there is nothing to enable first. You do not need a Steam launch option such as -console; Ctrl + Q is all it takes.

Type a command and press Enter. Command names are written with a dot between the group and the command, such as time.setTimeOfDay, and any values go after a space.

How to spawn items with the console

Two commands do it.

  1. Find the key. Type world.listLoot to list every item you can spawn, one line per category, or world.listLoot with a category name to list one category with the items' names.
  2. Spawn it. Type world.spawnLoot and the key, for example world.spawnLoot Shovel. While you type, the game filters the list as you go and Tab completes the key.
  3. Pick it up. The item appears at the spot you are looking at, up to 50 m away, or about 3 m in front of you if you are not looking at anything. It comes at full condition, and containers come full.

An item's key is its internal name with spaces removed, such as BottleWater or Shovel. You can also type the item's name as world.listLoot shows it, as long as only one item has that name; if several do, the console tells you which keys to use instead. The game's own names for items are on our items list.

Anything the game hands out as loot can be spawned this way, including furniture, tools, vehicle parts and the vehicles themselves. A spawned vehicle may come as a bare body that still needs its parts; we have not checked what it comes with. For blueprints there is a separate command, upgrade.spawnBlueprint, that takes ladder, roof_rack or motorcycle_holder and makes the matching blueprint from our blueprints guide.

Spawning an item switches achievements off for that game.

Do console commands turn off achievements?

Most do. Running most developer console commands switches achievements off for everyone in that game, and it stays off for the rest of that game. The console says so when it happens: "Achievements are off for this session: '<command>' was run in this game."

The commands that do not switch achievements off are the ones that only show you something:

  • Commands in the groups ach., graphics., display., ui., loc., net., network., mirror., audio., chat. and tips..
  • world.listLoot, loot.perf and the save commands that only report: save.info, save.verify, save.backups, save.cloud.status, save.cloud.list and save.cloud.log.
  • Commands whose last part ends in a reporting word such as info, state, stats, list, status, log or history, for example journey.info or upgrade.state. The one exception is pry.state, which does switch achievements off.

That leaves 151 commands that keep achievements and 156 that do not. Our achievements guide covers the achievements themselves.

The leaderboard works the same way for the whole world. Once a console command has been used in a world, the game shows: "This world no longer counts for the leaderboard because a console command was used in it."

Version notes and limits

  • Not tested in play: the key, the commands, the item keys and the achievement rule come from the game's files and code.
  • Not checked: what the numbers in commands such as player.setNutrition mean, what a spawned vehicle comes with, and how host-only commands behave when another player types them.
  • Refresh trigger: we recheck this page when a patch changes the console key, the commands or which commands switch off achievements.

FAQ

Does Nomad Drive have cheats?

Not as cheat codes, but the game has a built-in developer console. Press Ctrl + Q to open it; its commands can spawn items, set the time and weather and refill your stats. Most of them switch off achievements for that game. Nomad Drive cheats in the sense of trainers or mod menus are third-party tools, not part of the game.

Do you need to add -console to the Steam launch options?

No. The console is part of the game and opens with Ctrl + Q in any game.

Do console commands disable achievements?

Most do, for the rest of that game and for every player in it. Commands that only show information, such as world.listLoot, do not.

Can you use console commands in co-op?

Yes. Any player can open the console, but one player's command switches achievements off for everyone, and the developers' notes mark some commands, such as vehicle.fuel, as host-only.

Can you spawn a vehicle or furniture?

Yes. world.spawnLoot can spawn any item the game hands out, including furniture and vehicles. A spawned vehicle may still need its parts.

Can you still get on the leaderboard after using the console?

No. A world where a console command was used no longer counts for the leaderboard.
