What time does Nomad Drive release?
Nobody official has said yet. The Nomad Drive Steam page shows October 20, 2026 without an hour, and the developers' September 16 announcement and their Discord replies give the day only.
SteamDB, which tracks Steam's own data, lists the release as 15:00 UTC on October 20. That figure comes from Steam's scheduling data as SteamDB reads it, not from an announcement, and release times on Steam can change on the day. If you want to be there when the game unlocks, check the Steam page on October 20; this page is updated with the date it was checked once a time is confirmed.
Nomad Drive price and Early Access pricing
As of October 9, 2026, the Steam store page does not show a price. What the developers have said comes from the official Nomad Drive Discord: on September 15, 2026, the producer explained that Steam uses regional pricing, that the launch price with the release discount should be around $12–14 USD at most, and that in some regions it may go down to around $7–8. A second developer repeated the same range on October 9.
The Steam page's Early Access Q&A sets out the pricing plan: the price will be lower during Early Access, it will go up as significant new content and features are added, and there will be a final increase at the full 1.0 launch. In other words, buying during Early Access is meant to be the cheapest way in, and the price you see on October 20 is the one that applies; if the store price differs from the developers' estimate, this page is corrected with the date it was checked.
What Early Access means for Nomad Drive
Nomad Drive launches as an Early Access game, not a finished 1.0 release. The developers' Q&A on the Steam store page, checked October 9, 2026, answers the questions Steam asks every Early Access developer:
- How long: "We are targeting a full release within 6 to 12 months," with the note that the timeline may shift based on player feedback and new ideas from the community.
- What is already in: players can drive, maintain and repair their RV, explore the procedurally generated world, gather resources and manage survival needs, and online co-op is implemented.
- Save wipes: players should expect bugs, and "system-heavy updates may require save file wipes." Nothing says a wipe is scheduled; it is a possibility the developers want you to know about before you buy.
- Feedback: the developers say they will watch the Steam discussion forums and their Discord for feedback, bug reports and ideas.

Nomad Drive platforms and stores
Nomad Drive launches on October 20, 2026 on one platform: PC through Steam, on Windows. The Steam store page lists Windows only, with no macOS or Linux version, checked October 9, 2026.
PlayStation 5. A Nomad Drive page on the PlayStation Store went live in May 2026, as the developers announced on Discord on May 18. On October 9 it read "Release date to be determined", listed 4 online players and PS5 Pro Enhanced, and named NAISU as the publisher of the console version. No PS5 date has been announced.
Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Mac and Linux. Not announced. There is no Xbox store page and the developers have not mentioned Xbox, Switch, Mac or Linux versions; Steam lists no macOS or Linux build.
Steam Deck. Steam's compatibility report shows no rating for Nomad Drive or its demo as of October 9, 2026, so there is no Verified, Playable or Unsupported badge yet.
Controllers. The Steam page carries the Full controller support label, and the producer said on Discord on September 19, 2026 that gamepad support will be available at the Early Access launch. Players on the Steam forums reported in June and September 2026 that the demo did not respond to a controller, so do not judge controller support by the demo.
PC requirements. The Steam store page lists these minimum requirements: a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (6 cores), 12 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB or AMD RX 580 8 GB (6 GB VRAM), DirectX 11 and 10 GB of storage. The recommended setup is an Intel Core i5-12400F or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti or AMD RX 6700 XT (8 GB+ VRAM) and DirectX 12.
Languages. Steam lists 24 interface languages, including English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Polish, Ukrainian and Arabic.
There is no mobile version. Steam lists Windows only; app-store listings that suggest an Android or iOS version are not from the developers.
The demo after launch
The free Nomad Drive demo has been on Steam since June 15, 2026 and was still available on October 9, 2026. Three things the developers have said about it on Discord matter if you are playing it now:
- Saves do not carry over. On September 29, 2026, the producer said save files from the demo will not be transferable to the full game and recommended that everyone start fresh.
- The demo is an older build. On September 14 and 17, the producer said the demo runs an older, somewhat buggy version of the game and that demo updates were on hold while the team worked on the Early Access version.
- A demo update is planned after launch. On October 9, a developer said the team plans to update the demo after the Early Access release; no date was given.

Why the release moved from September
Nomad Drive was first planned for a June to July 2026 window, then for September. On September 16, 2026, the developers posted an Early Access Release Date Update on Steam saying the launch was moving to the first half of October to give the game more optimisation and polish, and that they did not yet have an exact day to share. The October 20 date followed on the Steam page.
On Discord on September 26, the producer gave more context: the team would have liked to release in November with more content, but that did not seem realistic, the GTA 6 release window was making scheduling difficult, and industry professionals had told them to release Nomad Drive by February 2027 at the latest.
