What are the minimum requirements for Nomad Drive?
64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8 GB, DirectX 11 and 10 GB of storage.
Nomad Drive system requirements on Steam start at 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8 GB, with 10 GB of storage. Steam recommends an Intel Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT. The game is Windows only, and controllers are supported from the Early Access launch, not in the demo.

These are the PC requirements on the Nomad Drive Steam page, copied line by line. Both columns require a 64-bit processor and operating system.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) | Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (6 cores) | Intel Core i5-12400F / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X |
| Memory | 12 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB / AMD RX 580 8 GB (6 GB VRAM) | NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti / AMD RX 6700 XT (8 GB+ VRAM) |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 10 GB available space | 10 GB available space |
The graphics line asks for 6 GB of video memory at minimum, so a 4 GB card sits below it even if it is fast. Some third-party "can I run it" sites list very different figures for Nomad Drive; the Steam page is the developer's own list.
The free demo has its own Steam page with its own minimum requirements and no recommended column. For what the demo includes and how long it lasts, see our Nomad Drive demo guide.
| Line | Demo minimum | Full game minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310 | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (6 cores) |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 12 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GTX 970 4GB / AMD RX 580 4GB | GTX 1060 6 GB / RX 580 8 GB (6 GB VRAM) |
| Storage | 5 GB available space | 10 GB available space |
| Operating system | Windows 10/11 64bit OS | Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) |
The two lists point in different directions: the demo asks for more memory but an older processor and a 4 GB graphics card, while the full game asks for a newer six-core processor and 6 GB of video memory. A demo that runs on your PC is a good sign, but check the full game's processor and graphics lines before you buy.
Compare your processor and graphics card with the minimum column above; those two lines matter most. If you are close to the minimum, these settings in the demo's menu make the biggest difference:
The menu has no DLSS or FSR upscaling option. Players on the official Discord report that lowering the quality and capping the frame rate at 60 reduce stutter, and that even strong PCs see occasional freezes in the demo; those reports describe the demo build, not Early Access.
Controllers in Early Access. The full game's Steam page lists Full controller support and names DualShock and DualSense controllers. The producer said on Discord on September 19, 2026 that gamepad support will be available at the Early Access launch, and a developer had promised full controller support in the Steam thread "Controller support" back in June.
Controllers in the demo. The demo does not support controllers. Its store page lists Keyboard Only Option, and players on Steam and Discord have reported since June 2026 that a gamepad does nothing in the demo. Do not judge the full game's controller support by the demo. The demo's files already contain PlayStation, Xbox and Switch button icons, which is groundwork for Early Access, not support you can use today.
Remapping keys. The demo's settings have a Controls page where you can rebind keys: it asks you to press a key, warns when that key is already assigned to another action, and has Restore Defaults. By default only four actions are locked: the main interact button, using the item in your hand, finishing a placement and rotating an object. Movement is not among them, so the files show WASD can be rebound. Players complained in July 2026 that movement keys could not be remapped; that was an earlier demo build, and we have not tested the current one in play.
Four items are still open: whether rebinding movement keys works in play, whether the store requirements or the Steam Deck rating change at launch, how controller support behaves in the Early Access build, and what the official Discord's FAQ channel says about controllers.
Launch day, October 20, 2026, triggers a fresh check of both store pages, the Steam Deck report and the Early Access settings menu.
64-bit Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8 GB, DirectX 11 and 10 GB of storage.
An Intel Core i5-12400F or Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB of RAM, an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT with 8 GB or more of video memory, and DirectX 12.
Yes. The demo lists an older processor and a 4 GB graphics card but 16 GB of RAM, and 5 GB of storage.
The full game lists full controller support from the Early Access launch. The demo does not support controllers.
Yes. The demo's Controls page lets you rebind keys; only four actions are locked, and movement is not one of them.
Steam lists Windows only, and the Steam Deck report shows no rating yet.
10 GB for the full game; the demo lists 5 GB.
Set an FPS limit instead of Unlimited, lower the quality and switch off motion blur. The developers say Early Access fixes most performance issues.
