Can you change your character's look later in Loftia?
Yes. A developer said during the demo that you can customize your character any time as you play, using the Customization Menu.
Loftia character customization is not a one-time choice. You build your character's face, body and hair at the start, and a developer said during the demo that you can change your look any time as you play. Looks are not gender locked, so any outfit or hairstyle is open to any character.

You set up your character when you start a new game. A player's video of the demo creator, by MyrabelsPlays, walks through these options:
The creator lets you rotate the camera and zoom, so check your character from the side before you confirm.
None of this is locked in. In the official Loftia Discord during the demo, a developer answered that you are able to customize your character "anytime as you play". The game itself sends you back to the Customization Menu: Pebble's side quest The Extremely Secret Surprise and Linda's Project Runway both ask you to dress up.
Looks are not tied to gender either. The official FAQ says you can customize your character however you like, so every hairstyle and outfit is open to every character.
The demo gives you six ways to add to your wardrobe.
| Source | What you get | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Tailoring Station | Clothing you choose to craft | Linda's First Stitch has you build one and craft any piece; Our First Collection asks for 5 different outfits |
| Story quests | Hats | A Fresh Start, Permission to Glide and Certified Flying Loftian each give a hat |
| Side quests | Hats and outfit pieces | Linda's tailoring quests, Ready for the Rumble, The Extremely Secret Surprise and Pebblethon: The Bounce Challenge |
| Random Outfit rewards | One random piece from a set | Pools include the Woodlands pieces |
| Linda's Fashion Shop | Outfits for Dew | The game tells you when it opens: "You can now purchase outfits from Linda's Fashion Shop!" |
| Item fragments | A unique piece of clothing | Collect enough of the same fragment |
Tailoring Station. The game describes it as the place to "craft wardrobe pieces that elevate your fashion, from head to toe". Linda's quest chain starts here: First Stitch asks you to build a Tailoring Station and craft any piece of clothing, and Our First Collection asks for 5 different outfits. The order and unlock conditions of these quests are in our list of Loftia side quests.
Quest rewards. Several quests end with a hat or a piece of clothing. The Extremely Secret Surprise, Pebble's welcome gift, gives a pair of shoes and a Vending Machine as its fixed reward.
Linda's Fashion Shop. Linda's shop sells outfits for Dew, the main currency across Loftia's shops.
Shiny versions. Duplicates are not wasted. The game says that "by using a bit of Bloom, you can try turning your duplicate outfits into special shiny versions". It is a try: when it works, you get a shiny variant you can equip and customize like any other piece.
Paid cosmetics. Loftia also has an in-game shop that sells cosmetics only; how the game is paid for is on our Loftia price and payment page.
Three items come up again and again in player questions. Here is what the demo shows for each.
Woodlands Mushroom Hat. The hat is part of a Random Outfit pool in the game files, alongside the Woodlands shirt, plaid top, bloomers and skirt. A developer said during the demo that when Pebble gives you a gift, "you can randomly get some of the later game stuff". So the hat is one possible result of Pebble's welcome gift, not a guaranteed one. If you finished The Extremely Secret Surprise without it, you did not miss a step; the roll went another way.
Piggy Beanie. The last Pebblethon quest, Pebblethon: The Bounce Challenge, gives a hat. A third-party item database lists that hat as the Piggy Beanie. The Bounce Challenge needs another player: you play Don't Drop the Ball together, after Let the Pebblethon Begin and The Bonk Challenge.
Solarpunk V1. The Solarpunk V1 pieces, including the hoodie, jeans, skirt and shoes, are in the game's item list, and players report collecting Solarpunk V1 fragments in the demo. They are fragment outfits: collect enough of the same Solarpunk V1 fragment and it combines into that piece, as the item fragments section explains. Where the fragments drop is not in the demo's reward pools we read.
Some rewards come as fragments instead of whole pieces. When you find your first one, the game explains: "Gathering more of the same one will convert the fragments into a unique piece of clothing." You can check how many units of each fragment its set needs.
Two things to know if a set does not combine:
Fragment counts for each set and drop locations are not part of this page; we add them when the Early Access build settles them.
Inside: paint mode. The game tells you that you can paint your furniture and your house's interior by pressing the paint key while pointing at what you want to paint. In the Interior tab you can paint your walls, ceiling, floor and more, and rotate the camera to reach every corner. Some items cannot be painted; the game says so when you try.
Outside: the Architect Station. Changing the house itself comes from Milo's side quest It's On the House, near the end of the Loftia City story. Milo gives you your first house improvement, then sends you to the Architect Station. When the quest ends, the game tells you: "You can now customize your house and island via the Architect Station!" If you are looking for how to change the outside of your home, this is the quest to finish.
Two points are open: where Solarpunk V1 fragments drop, and the in-game name of the Pebblethon hat, which here comes from a third-party database. The developers' official What's in Early Access list promises more outfits, customization options and emotes than the demo had. Early Access opening on November 3, 2026 triggers a recheck of the outfit sources and both open points against the Early Access build.
Yes. A developer said during the demo that you can customize your character any time as you play, using the Customization Menu.
No. The official FAQ says you can customize your character however you like.
Craft them at a Tailoring Station, earn them from quests, buy them at Linda's Fashion Shop, or collect matching item fragments.
It is a random result from Pebble's welcome gift in The Extremely Secret Surprise. If you did not get it, the random roll gave you another piece.
Collect enough of the same fragment and it turns into a unique piece of clothing. If a full set does not combine, drop one fragment and pick it up again.
Collect matching Solarpunk V1 fragments; once you have enough of the same one, they combine into the piece. Where those fragments drop is the one part nobody has published yet.
Use paint mode for furniture, walls, ceilings and floors. To change the house itself, finish Milo's quest It's On the House and use the Architect Station.
Finish Pebblethon: The Bounce Challenge, which needs another player. A third-party item database lists its hat reward as the Piggy Beanie.
