Deep Dish Dungeon Sanctuary Door Guide

Checked October 14, 2026 · Deep Dish Dungeon, Steam build 25902716

The Sanctuary Door in the Deep Dish Dungeon full game opens with four gems: the Bean Gem, the Corn Gem, the Guarana Gem and the Tomato Gem. Put one gem on each of the four statues beside the door, in any order. Once all four are in place, the door opens and stays open. It cannot be opened by hand.

Deep Dish Dungeon Sanctuary Door: what it needs

New to the game? Start at the Deep Dish Dungeon guide hub.

  • Tomato Gem: dropped by the Giant Spider in the prison.
  • Guarana Gem: dropped by the Giant Moray Eel in the sewers.
  • Corn Gem: in a small chest that also holds a Grinding Stone and 10 arrows.
  • Bean Gem: placed on its own, not in a chest and not dropped by an enemy.

How we know this. Nobody had published footage of this door when we checked, so the rules on this page come from how the full game's files and code set the door up, not from a run we played. One gem source, the Giant Spider, is also confirmed by a launch-day walkthrough. Where the door sits in the dungeon is not confirmed yet.

How to open the Sanctuary Door

You open the Sanctuary Door by placing all four gems on the four statues next to it at the same time. There is no key and no lever: the door only answers to the statues.

  1. Collect the four gems. Each comes from a different place; the next section covers all four.
  2. Put one gem on each statue. Hold a gem and use an empty statue to place it. It does not matter which gem goes on which statue, or in what order you place them.
  3. Watch the door open. As soon as the fourth gem is in place, the door opens and the lights around it fade.
  4. Take your gems back if you want them. Using a statue that holds a gem returns the gem to you, as long as you have room for it. The door stays open after you do.

The door cannot be opened or closed by hand at any point. If it will not open, check that every statue holds one of the four gems: a statue that holds anything else, or nothing, keeps the door shut.

Where to find all four gems

The four gems come from four different places. In the current game files none of them comes from a random loot table: each is a fixed drop, a fixed chest item or an item placed in the dungeon.

Tomato Gem: the Giant Spider in the prison

The Giant Spider in the prison drops the Tomato Gem every time you kill it. That is the Giant Spider with 500 health; the game gives the same name to a weaker spider with 1 health, which drops nothing. TechRaptor's launch-day walkthrough reports the same drop and calls the gem a key item for later. If you have not reached the prison yet, our Prison Key guide shows how to open the Prison Door.

Guarana Gem: the Giant Moray Eel in the sewers

The Giant Moray Eel, the boss in the sewers, leaves the Guarana Gem where it dies. Our Giant Moray Eel guide explains the fight and its rewards.

Corn Gem: a small chest

The Corn Gem sits in a small chest together with a Grinding Stone and 10 arrows. If you open a chest with exactly that mix, the Corn Gem is the one you are after.

Bean Gem: on its own

The Bean Gem is not in a chest and no enemy drops it. It is placed on its own in the dungeon as a loose item, so look for it out in the open rather than in containers.

The hint in the camp diary

The game hints at the set. A diary entry in the game reads: "Tomato, Corn, Beans, and a weird eye looking fruit thing. These ancient people sure loved these foods." We read the eye-looking fruit as guarana: the Guarana Gem's own description is "A deep crimson eye, awake, alert, watching".

All four gems are also treasures, so each one counts toward the treasure achievements. Our achievements guide lists the treasure achievements, and our items table has an entry for each gem, starting with the Bean Gem.

Other statues that take the same gems

The Sanctuary Door is not the only thing that wants these gems. A hidden door and a grout each have a single statue that accepts any one of the four.

  • The hidden door: place any one of the four gems on its statue and the hidden door opens. It stays open.
  • The grout: place any one of the four gems on its statue and the grout comes to life. Lights come on, two corn plants grow, and a small chest rises up. That chest holds a Grinding Stone and three tomatoes.

Because you can take a gem back off any statue, one set of four gems is enough for everything. You can open the hidden door and wake the grout with a single gem each, take it back, and still have all four for the Sanctuary Door. Nothing on these statues uses a gem up.

The Sanctuary Door in the demo

You could not find the Sanctuary Door in the free demo, Steam build 23712006. The demo had no Sanctuary Door, hidden door or grout in the dungeon. The Giant Spider that drops the Tomato Gem and the Giant Moray Eel that drops the Guarana Gem existed in the demo's files only as definitions and were not placed anywhere, so none of this puzzle could be played before the full game.

Version notes and limits

Still open: where the Sanctuary Door, the hidden door and the grout are, which parts of the dungeon hold the Corn Gem and the Bean Gem, and what lies behind the Sanctuary Door. We will update this page once footage of the door confirms these, or if a patch changes the door, the statues or the gems.

Deep Dish Dungeon Sanctuary Door FAQ

What do you need to open the Sanctuary Door?

All four gems: the Bean Gem, Corn Gem, Guarana Gem and Tomato Gem, one on each of the four statues beside the door.

Does the order of the gems matter?

No. Any gem can go on any statue, and you can place them in any order. The door opens once all four are in place.

Where do you get the Tomato Gem?

From the Giant Spider in the prison, which drops it every time. It is the one with 500 health, not the weaker spiders that share its name.

Where is the Corn Gem?

In a small chest that also holds a Grinding Stone and 10 arrows.

Are the gems used up when you place them?

No. You can take each gem back off its statue, and the Sanctuary Door stays open after you do.

What else are the gems used for?

A hidden door and a grout each take any one of the four gems on their single statue. The grout raises a chest with a Grinding Stone and three tomatoes. One set of gems covers all three.

What is behind the Sanctuary Door?

Not confirmed yet. Nobody had published footage of the door when we checked, so this page does not describe what lies behind it.

Is the Sanctuary Door in the demo?

No. The Sanctuary Door and the gem statues are full-game only.
