Deep Dish Dungeon Items

Demo build 23712006 · checked

This is a table of Deep Dish Dungeon items: every named item in the game files, one row each, grouped by category. Each row gives the game's own description, stack size, weapon damage and stamina cost, the effect line from the item's tooltip, traits such as spoiling, where the item is made, what it is used in and where it turns up in the map.

Quick answer

The table covers every item with an English name in the game files, read from the demo build shown above. When the full game launches on October 13, 2026, the table switches to the full game's files.

Being in the files does not mean you can get an item in the demo. The developer has said that several weapons are not in the demo (February 13, 2026), that the Cape and Scrap Cape belong to the full game (June 26, 2026), and that Hooks and Chains were removed from the demo (patch notes, February 17, 2026). Players also list Ragged Cloth, and with it the Backpack, as out of reach in normal play. The table does not mark which items the demo gives you: the sections below cover the ones players ask about most, and our demo guide covers what the demo includes.

How to get Ragged Cloth

Ragged Cloth has no recipe. The demo's map files hold a single source for it: a spawn point in a room of the barracks, next to the campsite with a Cooking Table, and that room is blocked by rocks. Rock piles cannot be cleared in the demo (how roots, goo and rock piles work), and players report that they only got into the room by leaving the playable area, which this guide does not cover. In normal demo play, treat Ragged Cloth as out of reach.

It goes into the Backpack, Leather Armor, Medium Sword, Detailed Armor, Scrap Cape and Cape recipes. Its row is under Materials and ingredients.

Where to find Iron Rods

Iron Rods have no recipe. In the demo's map files they turn up only as items placed in the level: three lie ready at the starting camp, which players also point out in videos and on the Steam forum. Players report three more from taking apart the Cooking Pot by the campfire, and one behind a door. The Smelter you can build is no help in the demo: it costs Clay, which the demo does not have.

They go into many recipes, including the Workbench, the Cooking Pot and the Short Sword.

Backpack and Pouch

The Backpack is made by hand from the crafting menu with Leather, Ragged Cloth and Rope, and it is set down on the floor once made. Its description reads "Extra inventory slots. But very heavy to carry." Players report that you cannot sprint while wearing it. Since its Ragged Cloth is out of reach in normal demo play, players also report that they cannot make one there. Amounts are in the Backpack recipe.

The Pouch is the other bag in the table: it is made at the Workbench from Leather and Vines, and its description reads "Adds 3 slots to inventory". Both are in the Tools and bags category.

What you get from scorpions

Since the June 9, 2026 update, a dead scorpion can be harvested for a Scorpion Carcass instead of dropping food (developer patch notes). At a Cooking Table the carcass becomes Scorpion Tail. The tail goes into Raw Scorpion Roll, also made at the Cooking Table, which an Oven turns into Scorpion Roll; the tail is also an ingredient in Stew and Cooked Tail.

Scorpion Tail, Raw Scorpion Roll and Scorpion Roll all spoil. Scorpion Roll's tooltip effect is in its row under Food and drink.

Weapons and armor

The Weapons group lists the melee weapons, bows and arrows in the files, with base damage as the low–high range the weapon's tooltip shows and the stamina each use costs. Damage is the value before any Forge Anvil upgrade or food bonus.

The Armor group lists body armor and capes with the effect line from their tooltip, such as damage reduction and noise while moving. The Cape and the Scrap Cape carry the same noise reduction, and the developer said on June 26, 2026 that the two do not stack. Shields have their own group.

Weapons site-grouped

Bows show no damage in their tooltip, so their Base damage cells are empty. Arrows are listed here as bow ammunition.

How to read the table

Names and descriptions are the game's own English text, kept exactly as written, including the few names in lowercase. An empty description means the game has none, and items without an English name in the files are left out. The categories are this site's grouping, not the game's. Key Piece, Sleeping Bag and Trap appear more than once because the game has separate items with the same name.

Stack is how many of an item fit in one stack. Base damage and Stamina per use also appear on the Torch, under Tools and bags.

Tooltip effect is the effect line from the item's tooltip, rebuilt from the game's code rather than copied from screenshots, with durations rounded the way the tooltip rounds them. The food, drink and potion rows that change HP or SP recovery rate show — instead: the game stores those numbers in a form we have not matched to the screen, so we hold them back. Lines the tooltip adds while you play, such as an upgrade level or how fresh food is, are not in the table. An empty cell means the item has no such value.

Traits also come from the game's code. Spoils: the item goes bad over time; the developer's patch notes of June 9, 2026 say food spoils one item at a time, usually in around 20 minutes, that a Food Basket keeps it fresh for at least an hour, and that Rotten Food can be burned as campfire fuel. Kept on death: the item is not dropped with the rest of your things when you die. Forge Anvil upgrade: the weapon can be upgraded at the Forge Anvil. Counts as a vegetable: the item can fill the "any vegetable" slot of a Cooking Pot recipe.

Made at names the station that makes the item; Crafting means the crafting menu, with no station. Used in lists the recipes that take the item. A recipe in the files does not mean you can make it: an ingredient may have no source, and the developer has said that recipes unlock as you play (March 7, 2026). Each recipe name links to its row in our Deep Dish Dungeon recipes table, which lists amounts and stations.

Found in the map lists the kinds of places in the game's map files where the item turns up: Chests, Enemy and pot drops, Gathered or harvested, Spawn points, and Placed in the level. It shows where an item appears in the files, not whether you can reach that spot, and it is not every source: starting gear, keys made in molds, materials you get back by taking things apart, random treasure and drops decided during play are not sorted into it. An empty cell does not mean you cannot get the item. Goo pile drops count only when the files give you a way to get a Pickaxe, the one tool that breaks them; see goo piles in our Clay guide.

Guide links to our walkthrough for an item where we have one: Leather, Animal Hide and Rat go to the Leather guide, Clay and the Pickaxe to the Clay guide, the Hammer to the Break Bars guide, and the keys to the Prison Key guide. The table does not give exact spots inside a room, and it has no item icons.
