When does Probably Stolen come out?
October 28, 2026, on Steam for Windows PC. The Steam store page gives that date, checked October 18, 2026.
The Probably Stolen release date is October 28, 2026, when the game launches on Steam for Windows PC as a full release, not Early Access. The Steam store page gives that date, checked on October 18, 2026, and the developers announced it in their Update 049 notes on September 14.
For what the game is, its starting scenarios and every guide we publish, start at the Probably Stolen guide hub.

The launch time and the Steam Deck rating are Steam's current values, not promises from the developers.
The developers have not announced an unlock time. The Probably Stolen Steam page shows October 28, 2026 without an hour, and their Update 049 notes and Discord posts give the day only. Steam does store a scheduled release time for the listing, and on October 18, 2026 that time was 12:55 UTC on October 28.
Converted for October 28, that is:
The list mixes summer and winter time on purpose: the UK and the EU leave daylight saving time on October 25, while the US stays on it until November 1, so the gap between New York and London on launch day is four hours, not five.
Treat the time as Steam's current schedule rather than a promise. Developers can move a scheduled release, and we have seen a game's scheduled time on Steam change days before launch. If you want to be there when Probably Stolen unlocks, check the Steam page on October 28; this page is updated with the date it was checked if the time moves.
Probably Stolen launches as a full game. The Steam page lists it as a game rather than an Early Access title, with no Early Access section, so October 28 is the full release and not a first step into Early Access.
The price has not been announced. On October 18, 2026, ten days before launch, the Steam store page for Probably Stolen showed a wishlist button and no price, and none of the developers' announcements mentions one.
Players in the Steam discussions have been guessing, and a few older numbers circulate from 2025 chat messages, written under the game's earlier name before the publishing deal with tinyBuild; none of them is a current price. The price you will pay is the one the Steam page shows when it goes up, which may include regional pricing or a launch discount. Once the store lists a price, this page gives it with the date it was checked.
Probably Stolen launches on one platform: PC through Steam, on Windows. The Steam store page lists Windows only, with no macOS or Linux version, checked October 18, 2026.
Steam Deck. Valve rates Probably Stolen Playable on Steam Deck: it works, but you may need extra effort to interact with it or configure it. Valve's notes say that with the default controller layout some functions need the touchscreen, the virtual keyboard or a community controller configuration, that the game sometimes shows mouse, keyboard or other controller icons, and that some in-game text is small and may be hard to read; the default graphics settings run well. Valve tested a build from September 11, 2026, so the rating can change for the release build. The demo has no Deck rating.
Other SteamOS devices. Valve lists the game as Compatible with devices running SteamOS, with the same note about the default controller layout.
Mac, consoles and mobile. No Mac, PlayStation, Xbox or Switch version has been announced as of October 18, 2026. There is no official mobile version either: Steam lists Windows only, and phone apps that use a similar name are not from Questing Goose Studio or tinyBuild.
Languages. The full game lists eight languages: English, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish (Spain) and Polish. The demo has five of them; Steam lists French, Spanish and Polish for the full game only.
PC requirements. The Steam page asks for at least a 64-bit Windows 10 PC with an Intel Core i3 or equivalent, 8 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 650 Ti or better, DirectX 10 and 1 GB of storage. The recommended specification only repeats that a 64-bit processor and operating system are required.
The free Probably Stolen demo has been on Steam since September 14, 2026. Its store page describes three starting scenarios plus a hardcore mode. In the current demo build (Steam build 25382790, before the October 19 update), the starts you can pick are Apprentice, Water Merchant and Rat Wrangler, plus Rock Bottom, which the developers describe as the hard-mode start; the other scenarios on the start screen are marked as unavailable in the demo.
Will your demo save carry over? Possibly, but it is not confirmed. In May 2026, four months before the demo came out, the game's lead developer said in the official Probably Stolen Discord that saves from the new demo would also be transferred to the 1.0 game, while adding "unless there's any changes". Since the demo launched on September 14, nobody from the studio has confirmed or ruled it out in the official announcements or the Discord posts we checked, and players asking on the Steam forums in September and October had no answer. We will update this section with the date as soon as the developers say more or launch-day players report what happens.
Saves from the Playtest did transfer. The developers announced on Steam on August 28, 2026 that saves from the open Playtest could be carried into the demo, and players confirmed the demo picked them up.
If your demo run matters to you, back it up before launch. During the Playtest, the lead developer pointed players to this save folder on Windows: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\LocalLow\Questing Goose Studio\Probably Stolen. Copy that folder somewhere safe before October 28.
Will the demo stay up after launch? Not announced. The demo listing was still available on October 18, 2026.
The most recent update is Update 049, posted on Steam on September 14, 2026 as UPDATE 049 Patch note - Release Date + New Demo. It announced the October 28 release and replaced the Playtest with the current demo. The main additions:
October 19 demo update. The official Discord announced on October 8 that the demo gets an update on October 19, described as "not something huge". Its content has not been published; this page adds it once the patch notes are out.
This page covers the days before launch, and six items are still open: whether the scheduled launch time holds, the price, whether demo saves carry over to the full game, whether the demo stays up after launch, what the October 19 demo update changes, and whether Valve retests Steam Deck for the release build.
The October 19 demo update triggers a recheck of the demo's starts and languages against the new build. The day before launch and launch day itself, October 28, 2026, trigger a recheck of every fact on this page. A store price, a changed time or a statement on demo saves is added with the date it was checked.
October 28, 2026, on Steam for Windows PC. The Steam store page gives that date, checked October 18, 2026.
Steam's store data lists 12:55 UTC on October 28, which is 5:55 a.m. PDT, 8:55 a.m. EDT and 12:55 p.m. in the UK. The developers have not announced a time, and Steam's schedule can change, so check the Steam page on launch day.
No. It launches as a full release; the Steam page lists it as a game with no Early Access label.
The price has not been announced. On October 18, 2026 the Steam page showed only a wishlist button.
Yes. Valve rates it Playable: it works, but some functions need the touchscreen or a community controller layout, and some text is small.
None has been announced as of October 18, 2026. The Steam page lists Windows only.
No official one. Steam lists Windows only, and apps with a similar name on phone stores are not from the developers.
Not confirmed. The lead developer said in May 2026, before the demo launched, that demo saves would transfer to 1.0 "unless there's any changes", and nobody from the studio has confirmed it since. Back up your save before launch.
Apprentice, Water Merchant and Rat Wrangler, plus the hard-mode Rock Bottom start, in the demo build before the October 19 update.
The developers have not said. The demo was still on Steam on October 18, 2026.
The official Discord announced it on October 8 as "not something huge" and gave no details. We will add the patch notes once they are posted.
The Steam page has no AI-generated content disclosure section as of October 18, 2026, and the developers have not addressed the question. That is all the store shows; it is not a statement either way.
